You did really well highlighting the pool balls in your color image. I like that you chose to highlight three instead of one - it feels more natural that way. The triangle they form is also a more interesting shape to look at (instead of a static ball). The angle also brings the viewer into the game, especially the perspective and thoughts of the girl that's leaning down. Cool photo.
I agree with Alyssa, the positions of the pool balls are very interesting and bring you through the image. I think the perspective adds to the photos as well. I like the repetition of the shadows in the black and white photo as well.
I like how in the color photo, the models are all wearing neutral colored clothing and everything in the background is pretty neutrally colored. it brings the attention and eye of the viewer to the pool balls
Your black and white photo is awesome! It's very intriguing and I just keep staring at it wanting to know what it is. I really like the shadows because it gives the picture a good range of values.
The black and white really grabbed my attention and I think it's a cool picture. I also love the highlight of the balls and it's a really interesting foal point to look at and keep the eyes moving.
I love both of these photos! The color photo is a really strong composition, with the brightly colored pool balls retaining your attention. They're well-arranged in a group of three, off to the side. The focusing enhances it, softly blurring the players of the game as well as the yellow pool ball to keep you looking at the orange and red balls. So cool! I love the texture you captured in the B&W photo. The unity is solid, and the lighting is nice and dramatic. I think that unfortunately, towards the top right corner, the perspective on the pattern changes and creates distracting curved lines. I know that that isn't really controllable, though. It's still a nice effective piece!
B+W Really excellent sense of movement happening! The values are nice, and the image is intriguing to look at.
Color Nice composition happening! This one also has a good sense of movement and energy. I only wish that the female subject had a bit of color on her shirt or something to tie her more to the pool balls. It might draw the viewer's attention away from the bright light in the right corner, which is a bit distracting and competes for attention (from the female subject/background) due to the contrasting values.

ReplyDeleteYou have some great repetition in your black and white photo that I think would be lost if it was in color. Great work!
