I like the colors used for your top photo. I think that it could be even more successful if the mans face was slightly warmer- his face is already pretty cool since he has a lot of cool light being reflected onto his face. This would create stronger contrast, but overall very successful
I agree with Abigail, I think the contrast between warm and cool could have been pushed a little more in the color photo. The black and white photo is very successful. I like the repetition in the floor and pillars.
I love the composition of the second photo; the focal point is really obvious and it's just very pleasing to look at. It makes me want to go there. The first photo is also very beautiful, but I think it would have been more successful without the machinery in the background, or just including it in a more compositionally sound way. Right now it's distracting because it's there but we can't quite figure out what it is. Good start though, and good potential!
Hey I recognize the first photo! :) Both images have great composition and a clear eye path. I would say the first photo even works as a monochrome color harmony. I think the b&w photo has a great range of values - the darks work to balance out the vast amounts of white on the ceiling. It just feels very balanced.
I think you could've pushed the warm and cool color contrast just a bit in your top photo. It just feels mostly cool to me and I'm missing that warm color contrast. Your black and white photo is nice.

ReplyDeleteFun photos! Even though I don't know much about photography, I enjoyed them.
ReplyDeleteI think that both of your photos have awesome composition. I especially like the rhythm created in the black and white.
ReplyDeleteWarm/cold : I like the composition a lot, maybe a little heavy on the bokeh effect. little stronger warm colors would maybe pull it all together.
ReplyDeleteB&W: I really like the exposure of this photo, good leading lines, stong focal point
