The black and white photo has a really strong focal point and I think works well as a black and white photo as opposed to color. The top photo is definitely a good example of analogous and is composed well although the bird gets kind of lost in the background.
Both compositions are really strong, and you nailed the use of color harmony vs. black and white. I agree with Eleni, the black and white photo would not be as strong in color.
These are both really compelling photos that use color powerfully. There's a bit of tension in the color photo from the section of darker purple in the background being so close to the bird's nose. If the angle was slightly different, the bird would have a little more room. I think that would make it even quicker to spot the bird as the focal point.
Love both of these! The analogous picture works really well, the colors work well together and it just creates a sense of warmth and comfort. Very pleasing to the eye. Your black and white picture is so cool!

I love the colors on your first one, but I agree that the bird is kind of lost in the background I really like your black and white one though, it has great contrast and composition
I think it's more monochromatic than analogous. Also, my eyes were drawn to the black mass before anything else and I'm not sure that's what you were going for. But the black and white ones is great. Lovely contrast in values
I really like both of these pictures. The analogous as it's very pleasing to the eye and the black and white picture has really good contrast. Well done.
Your color photo is seriously beautiful. I love how crisp and in-focus your foreground is, and that the out-of-focus dark background shape provides contrast against all of the yellow. I also love that the shading has been color-matched to that dark shape, so that it's all unified. Awesome job! In the black and white, the sparks are the coolest. The range of value is really nice, and I like that there's rule-of-thirds going on between the right third and the left two thirds. I don't really have anything to add or change!
Love the composition for the color photo BUT all the colors have low chroma. they are not saturated. There could be more variety in color to create emphasis. Love the focus and blurr.
top photo is a good example of both analogous and a monochromatic color scheme
