I really like the top photo, however I think I would have made the pops of blue a little brighter so that they stand out more against the orange. Really great idea though and well executed.
Top photo is great. I like how you used complementary colors without going overboard. The second photo on the other hand is very difficult to read. Our subject is unclear and ends up being forgettable because there is no clear purpose or message.
Complimentary; Like the concept and the lighting and how the paint reflects it
B&W: i don't know if its what you were going for (and/or maybe i'm just wrong) but the branches in the background seem to be the most in focus, which distract from the statue
Your color photo is great! Like Abby said, the flecks of blue are an awesome detail. I also love that you used black paint in addition to the orange and blue in order to add interest. The black and white photo is cool--at first I thought it was a living girl, but everyone's comments pointed out it was a statue! I do think that while the statue's location makes for a strong compositional shape and use of value, at my first glance it was lost within the tree. If it were moved more towards the right and maybe with a gap between her and the tree, it may stand apart more easily.
Love the top photo. I think it's a really successful picture. Also like the bottom one but one thing that I think can change is the value of the statue. It's too close of a value to the branches in that section of the picture but overall it's still a really good picture.
LOVE the top photo -very successful, good use of balance between the strong orange and hints of blue

ReplyDeleteThe composition of the bottom photo is awesome! The branch leads your eye to the statue, and there is a good balance between dark and light.
