I like the concept of your color photo. I think that if the blue was a little less vibrant or if the red was more vibrant then it would be more of a contrast and it would work more for what you are shooting for.
I love your black and white photo! Making it b&w really highlights the textures in the branches. This image would have felt a lot more chaotic in color since there's so many different bristles in focus, so the b&w highlights the focal point, leads the eye, and effectively simplifies the image.
I really like the black and white photo, it takes an object we've all seen and simply by removing color, it helps us see the diverse lines and value. I really like it, good work.
i think the black and white one is a new take on christmas. because we are so used to seeing christmas trees in color with the complementary color harmony, i love that you chose to put it in black and white. i think its a great composition
I'm not really getting the warm vs cool color contrast on the first one. Maybe that's just me. I like the black and white one in that I think it's easier to take in the little details than it would have been in color.
Your black and white image is so cool! I love the angle you went with; it looks like you photographed the underside of the tree, which is a much different angle than how most Christmas trees are portrayed in photos. Love the bright off-center light as a focal point as well. I think the color image is a little confusing; I can't quite tell if the subject is only the design, or the whole shirt. If the full shirt was in view, maybe lying on a bed, that would become a stronger composition.
